Special Education: IEP Implementation, Accountability and Financial Responsibility

The Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School (LMACS) oversees in an ongoing manner the full implementation of each IEP it proposes which has been consented to by a child’s parents.

LMACS provides all programs and services without expense to the child’s parents.

LMACS does not, nor does it propose to access the parent’s private insurance to support the costs of IEP implementation. If this policy should change, LMACS will obtain the parent’s consent and inform the parents that their refusal to permit the school district to access their private insurance will not relieve the district of its responsibility to ensure that all required services are provided at no cost to the parents.
