Who We Are
The Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School (LMACS) Foundation is a new, community-driven nonprofit dedicated to helping LMACS students thrive – today and into the future. We believe every young person deserves the chance to graduate with confidence, pursue college or career paths, and experience the full joy and pride of high school milestones.
Community members created the Foundation because we’ve seen firsthand how hard LMACS students work, how deeply the staff care, and how powerful it is when young people are surrounded by people who believe in them.
Our role is simple: to bring additional resources to a remarkable school serving remarkable students.
Why Your Support Matters
LMACS was founded to meet the needs of students who haven’t thrived in traditional settings- students balancing school with work, family responsibilities, or other challenges. While the school provides a strong academic program, there are many experiences and supports that public funding does not cover.
Your gift helps ensure that students don’t miss out on the opportunities and moments that make high school meaningful – moments that build confidence, connection, and hope.
Your Donation Can Make a Real Difference
The LMACS Foundation is here to help staff meet the needs of students, needs like:
- Caps and gowns for graduation so every student can celebrate their success with pride
- A school prom – a joyful milestone that every student should be able to experience
- Internship support that helps students gain real-world experience and build a pathway to employment
- Resources for the culinary program, where students gain skills, confidence, and a sense of community, in addition to breakfast and lunch each school day
- Student emergency needs or special projects that arise throughout the year
These small-but-meaningful investments can change a young person’s experience of school – and their belief in what’s possible next.
How to Give
The LMACS Foundation operates under a fiscal sponsorship with the Greater Lowell Community Foundation (GLCF). This allows us to begin supporting students immediately while building toward a fully independent foundation.
All donations to the Foundation are made through GLCF and directed into the LMACS Foundation Fund.
